Tay Ninh is committed to always standing side by side, listening and creating the most favorable conditions for businesses and investors to promote trade, expand cooperation and develop production and business activities. In addition, the province continues to implement many solutions to build a transparent and friendly investment environment, helping businesses develop sustainably to together build a strong, prosperous and integrated homeland.
Enhancing trade, connecting the supply chain of goods
The new Tay Ninh has great potential. The development space is expanded, creating new space and momentum. The province is oriented to develop into a new growth pillar, creating development links between the Southeast and the Southwest regions, especially as a bridge connecting the two economies of Vietnam - Cambodia and the Southeast Asian region through the system of cross-border border gates. The province prioritizes completing infrastructure from Long An International Port to the inter-regional traffic system, creating maximum convenience for import and export activities.
With a dynamic and innovative spirit, the province's investment environment has been constantly improved, always being in the leading group of the country in terms of the Provincial Competitiveness Index and in the Top 10 localities attracting large enterprises. According to the assessment, the economic scale of the province in 2025 is estimated to reach more than 352,000 billion VND, the GRDP growth rate is estimated at 9.3%, belonging to the group of 10 localities with the largest economic scale in the country. To date, the whole province has more than 37,000 enterprises operating with a total registered capital of more than 912,000 billion VND; there are more than 3,000 DDI projects with a capital of nearly 689,000 billion VND and 1,892 FDI projects with a total capital of more than 24 billion USD. Currently, the province has 46 industrial parks and 50 industrial clusters with an area of more than 17,000 hectares, of which more than 1,000 hectares of clean land are ready to receive investors. Goods of enterprises are exported to 130 countries and territories around the world, showing the province's potential in exporting goods to world markets.
To connect the supply chain of import-export goods and e-commerce, the Provincial People's Committee has just coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the Conference on connecting the supply chain of import-export goods and e-commerce in 2025 with the participation of nearly 600 delegates, including agencies under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, diplomatic agencies, departments and branches of Tay Ninh province, foreign business associations, and large transnational distribution corporations such as Central Retail, Aeon, Walmart, Lulu, Amazon, Coppel, Alibaba. In addition, the conference also had the participation of foreign enterprises from 25 countries and territories.
Ms. Truong Phuong Thoa - Director of the Southern E-commerce Center, OSB Group - representative of Alibaba Group in Vietnam, said that Tay Ninh province has a lot of potential in terms of enterprises, products and logistics infrastructure, but enterprises are still hesitant to participate in e-commerce. Meanwhile, e-commerce is currently an inevitable trend, so enterprises need to prepare carefully in terms of production capacity and human resources, and must standardize brand recognition image as well as import-export skills to participate more deeply in e-commerce, connect the supply chain of goods, search and expand the global export market.
Seize the opportunity, expand the export market
According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang, in the first 7 months of 2025, Vietnam's total import-export turnover reached nearly 515 billion USD, an increase of 16.3% over the same period in 2024. The bright spot is that exports to markets with Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) have all recovered, new generation FTAs such as CPTPP, EVFTA and UKVFTA along with a series of bilateral and multilateral FTAs that Vietnam has signed and implemented before have formed a large market network, becoming a driving force for Vietnamese enterprises and industries to boldly step out into the world.
After the merger, a new Tay Ninh has been formed with outstanding scale and potential in terms of development space. The province has also prioritized completing infrastructure from Long An International Port to the inter-regional traffic system, creating maximum convenience for import-export activities. The province's export highlights include diverse industries, from agriculture, seafood, textiles, footwear to industrial products, meeting the diverse needs of the international market. Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang said that in the context of a rapidly changing and increasingly complex global economy, building a diverse, effective and sustainable supply chain is extremely necessary. Enterprises and localities need to have appropriate adaptation strategies, maximizing advantages to improve competitiveness and meet market demand. In particular, strengthening close links between domestic and international enterprises will be the key to optimizing the supply chain.
Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang suggested: “Each enterprise must proactively innovate itself, improve its capacity and professionalism in business, especially in improving technology, improving product quality, meeting international standards, especially in the province's key export industries such as agriculture, fisheries, textiles, footwear, etc. At the same time, enterprises also need to diversify export markets, take advantage of FTAs to expand international markets, not only targeting traditional export markets of Vietnam such as the EU, the United States, Japan, China, etc., but also expanding to markets in the Middle East, Northern Europe, Latin America. These are all markets with a lot of room and potential to expand exports. For the province, it is necessary to continue to develop and perfect infrastructure, modern logistics, especially prioritizing investment in key transport infrastructure projects connecting industrial parks, clusters, and logistics centers to create a smooth, vital transport system connecting inter-regions and inter-provinces, improving freight transport capacity, reducing transport and logistics costs in production and export.
By mid-August 2025, the province's total import-export turnover reached 20.8 billion USD, an increase of nearly 20% over the same period in 2024. Of which, exports reached 11.53 billion USD, imports reached 9.27 billion USD. The province's main export items include textiles, footwear, metal products, iron and steel, electricity, rubber, cassava, sugar and many processed agricultural products. On the other hand, the main import items include textile materials, iron and steel, cotton yarn, machinery and equipment, raw cashew nuts and many agricultural products from the Cambodian border area. In particular, Tay Ninh's agricultural products and processed industrial products have reached demanding markets such as the United States, Japan, and the European Union, affirming the province's brand and reputation on the international trade map. Along with import and export, the province's e-commerce has also had breakthrough growth. In just the first 6 months of 2025, the province's e-commerce sales exceeded 1,043 billion VND, an increase of more than 133%. In particular, many enterprises in the province boldly participated in major e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba, Lazada, Shopee, Tiki, Voso, Postmart, bringing OCOP specialties, processed agricultural products and goods of Tay Ninh closer to domestic and foreign consumers.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut said that the results in import-export and e-commerce affirmed the strong development of enterprises, the province's products are increasingly diverse, and are welcomed by domestic and international markets. However, with the increasingly high demands of the market, the challenge will be not small for enterprises in the province when approaching the international market.
“Previously, we never thought about building a product story or a product journey. This also made us think about how to create an impression, highlight, and brand recognition, since it is not only a product of Tay Ninh but also a product of Vietnam when entering the international market. This also sets a new requirement for the province in building mechanisms and policies to support the province's enterprises in producing export goods" - Mr. Nguyen Van Ut said.
Mr. Ut also affirmed that Tay Ninh is committed to always standing side by side, listening and creating the most favorable conditions for enterprises and investors to promote trade, expand cooperation, and develop production and business activities in the province. In addition, the province continues to implement many solutions to build a transparent and friendly investment environment, helping businesses develop sustainably, together building a strong, prosperous and integrated Tay Ninh./.
